Skewered Circuits: March of Robots 2025

Client: Self-Initiated

This year’s series drops robotic characters into real-world photographic scenes, creating a surreal juxtaposition between analog life and mechanized presence. Each robot navigates a different everyday setting, as if placed mid-strategy on a chessboard hidden in plain sight. The result is a visual tension between movement and stillness, play and purpose.

Like a well-timed skewer in chess, these robots reveal unseen pressure points in ordinary environments—watchful, strategic, and slightly out of place. Their designs range from minimal to intricate, each one reacting to its surroundings with purpose or confusion, menace or grace.

Created as part of the March of Robots challenge, this collection continues the artist’s exploration of character and concept, emphasizing both adaptability and precision. The blend of digital illustration and photography acts as a tactical gambit, drawing the viewer into a world where every robot is a piece in play, and every background holds the potential for check.
